about our Leather
We all have a good idea of what leather is and where it comes from – that it is created through the tanning of hides and skins of animals – primarily cows. But what makes some leathers more luxurious than others?
We use three forms of leather in our collection – Nappa, Full Grain and Suede. Traditionally, Nappa (or Napa) and Full Grain leather are most commonly used in speciality and luxury products, such as small leather goods and gloves.
Nappa leather is extremely soft to touch, with an almost silky feel. It is not just softness that makes Nappa leather an ideal material for accessories but also its durability, meaning that it can withstand the knocks of daily usage.
Our glove leather comes from the internationally-renowned leather producers in England and Italy and consist of both nappa and hair sheep leather. The skins purchased are all by-products of the meat industry in this country of origin.
Leather has a lasting quality: it is special, luxuriant and a treat to be treasured
